Touching Lives For Christ

The Angel Tree

Christmas is a very special                       time but for some parents it                       is a time of dread.  They                         struggle to give their                              children the simple necessities of life and there is nothing left for Christmas gifts: toys or clothes.

Around the beginning of the Advent Season, the church gathers a list of children in our community that will not have gifts for Christmas without our help. The names of the children are  never published to the church.

After the needs and sizes of the children are known, each item is written  on an angel shaped card and placed on a tree in the narthex of the church.  Each member tries to take at least one card from the tree. They purchase the items, wrap  them, and put them under the angel tree with the card attached.  The gifts are delivered to the needy for the children to open on Christmas morning.
