United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women (UMW) is an organization of approximately one million members whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice. Members raise nearly $25 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. U.M.W. is a group of Christian women with many gifts who are unified by one Spirit. They participate in God’s mission in all areas of life.
The organization of United Methodist Women seeks to know God and to make life better for women, children, youth and marginalized neighbors in the ever-expanding global village of today's world. Dedicated to improving the quality of life for children, women and families, United Methodist Women work to improve the well-being of individuals and groups. United Methodist Women seek to be followers of Jesus Christ who live their faith in acts of justice and mercy. They are catalysts for needed change and mobilizers of human and material resources.
The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women, whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The total program reflects the historical focus of mission through:
- Spiritual growth
- Mission education
- Christian social involvement
- Support for women, children, and youth
UMW meets the second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at Medina First United Methodist Church. Visitors are always welcome at meetings and activities and U.M.W. welcomes any woman to membership who supports their purpose with prayer.

UMW Campbell's Labels for Education
The United Methodist Women, in conjunction with Reelfoot Rural Ministries, Inc. ask for your support in collecting labels from Campbell's and Campbell's owned food products. The labels are exchanged for day care equipment and supplies. Information regarding eligible labels is available from the Campbell's web site, www.labelsforeducation.com or pick up a brochure in the church lobby. In addition to the labels, UMW also collects "Box Tops for Education" which we give to local schools for obtaining needed equipment and supplies. The Labels and Box Tops may be put in the Campbell's container in the Fellowship Hall or turned in to the office. This is easy Clip, Earn, and Help them learn.
